Terms of Service

Last updated July 4, 2026

Welcome to Sorta Game. Sorta Game is created and operated by Jason Prunty, an individual doing business as “Designing Intelligence” (“we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sorta Game website, game, and related services (together, the “Service”). By playing Sorta Game or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Sorta Game is a free, browser-based daily puzzle game. No account or registration is required to play. We may add, change, pause, or remove features (including the daily puzzle itself) at any time without notice.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service, mine puzzle data, or extract future puzzle answers;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, including probing, overloading, or abusing our servers or APIs;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, including administrative tools;
  • submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes anyone else’s rights; or
  • use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

3. Your submissions

Some parts of the game let you type a free-text answer (for example, guessing the day’s hidden theme). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process those submissions in order to operate the Service — for example, to score your guess, including with the help of automated or AI-based systems. Please don’t include personal information in your answers; they only need to describe the puzzle.

4. Intellectual property

The Service — including the puzzles, game mechanics presentation, text, graphics, logos, and branding — is owned by Jason Prunty or licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We’re happy for you to share your daily results (including the score graphics the game generates for you) anywhere you like. Any other reproduction, distribution, or creation of derivative works requires our prior written permission.

5. Availability; no warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any given day will have a puzzle.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jason Prunty and anyone who helps operate the Service will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100). The Service is free — you use it at your own risk.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, for any reason, without notice. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4–6) will survive.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
